Moneygram refund procedures
Moneygram is a company that specialises in helping consumers send money to and receive money from other people and businesses. This includes emergency money and bill payments. Moneygram charges a fee for its services to consumers. In some cases a consumer may send money and make a mistake in the sending process. In this case a consumer may request a refund. In order to quality for a refund, Moneygram requires that the consumer submit personal information, a description of the error and information about the recipient of the money.
Moneygram requires a user name and password for use of its website to send a payment. If a Moneygram transaction is completed at a retail store, then the consumer is usually looked up by name and phone number. In both cases the consumer must list his or her name, address and phone number.
In order to request a refund on money sent, Moneygram requires the consumer to write a letter outlining the reason for the refund request. For example, if a consumer sent the wrong amount in a transaction, then the consumer must explain this. Moneygram explains on its website that it issues refunds on a case-by-case basis. The refund will only be issued if the company feels there is a valid reason for a refund.
In order to be considered for a refund of money sent through Moneygram, a consumer must submit information about where the money was sent. This means the name, address and phone number of the place where the money was sent. If it is a business, the account number and confirmation code will also be required for a refund.
