How to Pay an HSBC Card Bill Online

With the business of life, it is easy to lose track of when bills are due. It can be easy to forget to mail them bill days ahead to ensure that they make it to their intended recipients on time. Many bills, including credit card bills, can be paid online in a matter of minutes. Pay your HSBC credit card bill online and never miss another payment.

Visit the HSBC credit card website and click on the "Register" tab (see Resources). Follow the screen prompts to set up your online account. Enter your account information, including your account number, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. Next, enter your HSBC card's security number and expiration date. Once you have entered all the necessary information, create an online ID and password for your account.

Click on the "Sign In" tab to enter your account and view your credit limit, current balance and pending charges as well as the current payment amount and due date. Review the information for accuracy. If you want a list of specific charges, click on the "Statements" tab. Click on the "Pay My Card Bill" tab to proceed with paying the bill.

Review the bill-payment page to see your payment options. Your online payment options will include a standard payment, a rush payment or a recurring payment. The standard-payment option does not require a fee, and the payment will post to your account on time as long as you pay it before 4 p.m. on the weekday prior to your payment due date. For example, if your payment is due on Tuesday, you must make the standard payment by 4 p.m. on Monday. If you miss the window to make a standard payment, you can make a rush payment for £8.40.

Choose the date you want your payment to post and enter your bank account information. Click "Continue." This will bring you to a page that summarises your payment information. Review the page to make sure all the information is accurate and click "Submit."

Setting up recurring payments is the most convenient option if you are sure you will have enough money in your bank account to pay the bill each month.
